Please take a moment to read about our adoption process and then click the above links to see some of our fabulous cats and dogs. Please note we have about 25% of our cats listed on Petfinder – so plan to visit during adoption hours to meet your next best friend!

Our shelter currently homes about 50 wonderful dogs and more than 300 spectacular cats. Short hair, long hair, big and small, young and “seasoned,” playful and laidback – all here waiting for that special someone!

We’re very proud of our animals and are thrilled that you’re considering our shelter when adding a member to your family. When an animal comes to STAF, we commit to giving that animal a lifetime of care and love. When we pass that responsibility onto another through an adoption, our goal is to place the animal in a long-term, loving home.

Our adoption process, fine-tuned over many years of successfully placing animals in their forever homes, includes an application and informal interview with a STAF volunteer who will work with you one-on-one to find the perfect fit for your family and lifestyle. This volunteer will introduce you to animals, share background and health information, and tell you about each animal’s personality and special traits and talents. We will ask you to return to the shelter for a second visit to be sure of your decision.

5/11/20: In keeping with current safety guidelines, our shelter is closed to visitors and the majority of our dogs are in foster care with volunteers. While social distancing restrictions have slowed our adoption process (requiring patience on everyone’s part!), we continue working with homes to ensure the right fit for families and dogs alike. If you are looking to adopt within the week, we are unable to accommodate… but if you are prepared to take your time in finding just-the-right canine partner for your family and lifestyle, we’d love to hear from you! Please write to adoptadog@STAF.org.

Dog adoption hours are Saturdays 11:00am-2:00pm. There will be no walk-in appointments during this time but we can conduct video interviews. We ask that you complete and submit an adoption application when you schedule your appointment (download our dog application) and then email it to adoptadog@STAF.org. Please note you must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a dog from STAF. For more information about adopting one of our awesome dogs and our adoption requirements, please click here.
