If you’re wondering if STAF makes a difference, our miracle man, Mufasa, will tell you, “yes!” And, what a difference a year makes. Mufasa was brought in on a cold winter day last February, skinny, flea-ridden, and malnourished. When he first arrived, we were not sure why he did not have use of his back legs, but thought perhaps he would gain strength with proper food and medical care.

At his vet visit, we learned that Mufasa would require much more than proper nutrition, since the fluid in his chest was due to a diagnosis of FIP. Since our medical team had a history of providing protocols proven to cure FIP (once considered a fatal diagnosis), our team jumped into action for our boy. Mufasa got his own suite at STAF where he could get all of his amenities in a quiet room designated for convalescence. He received his daily protocols, and slowly, he became stronger and stronger, enjoying all the love from our volunteers. After many months, once he was pronounced cured, Mufasa joined other kitties in one of our free-roaming rooms. And soon after, he caught the eye of his new family where he would be in his forever home. It’s been just over a year since Mufasa came to us, and from the latest update from his mama, it looks like he truly is the King of his very own Castle!
