Say Hi to Hyacinth! Rescued from the streets by a kind Samaritan, we were told that she took Hyacinth to the vet for care, but she was not able to keep her. We welcomed this dear girl and treatment began right away for all the scabs on her skin due to flea dermatitis. It seemed that Hyacinth knew she was very fortunate to be with us, and she has shown nothing but sweetness and a love of human companionship with our loving volunteers. We are so happy that she’s responding to treatments for her skin, and before long, we know her coat will shine with sleekness. Our Hyacinth is full of a colorful personality, and with STAF on her side, she will continue to thrive and our flower will soon be in full bloom! Some dogs pull at your heartstrings a bit more than others, and Casey is definitely one of those. Casey came to us from a local county shelter after she was surrendered by her owner due to homelessness. The shelter could not provide care for her and was going to have to euthanize her, but STAF was able to step in to help. Casey is an elderly gal (about 13 years old), and she is definitely in rough shape. Her little legs and feet are covered in sores, she has not had any veterinary care in quite some time, and she probably has some dementia. Of course, despite all of this, Casey is a sweet, loving girl who melts when given attention. One of our wonderful volunteers is fostering her, giving her a home where she can decompress and relax. STAF truly makes a difference in the lives of many dogs and cats, and we are as lucky to have Casey as she is to have us!
