Help STAF Cats as a Cat Medicator

Are you passionate about helping cats thrive? Becoming a Cat Medicator is one of the most direct ways to impact feline health and well-being. This advanced volunteer role ensures our cats receive the medical treatments they need to live healthier, happier lives.

Why It Matters

Many of the cats rescued by Save The Animals Foundation arrive with health challenges. By giving medications and treatments, you help them recover, stay comfortable, and prepare for adoption. For cats with lifelong conditions, you make sure they get the care they deserve every single day.

Please note, you must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.

What You’ll Do

Medicators provide hands-on care to cats with both short-term and ongoing medical needs. With training and support, you’ll learn how to:

  • Give oral medications for acute and chronic conditions
  • Provide nebulizer treatments for respiratory support
  • Administer Sub-Q fluids and insulin for diabetic cats
  • Monitor and record each cat’s response to treatment
  • We provide training along with a wonderful environment for both volunteers and cats

What We’re Looking For

The Medicator role is critical to our cats’ care, and it requires reliability, commitment, punctuality, and the ability to understand the nuances of our cats’ personalities. This role is a good fit if you:

  • Have a calm, patient nature and love for cats
  • Can focus on detail and follow instructions carefully
  • Are punctual and reliable with your weekly shift
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Love seeing cats given the second chance they so richly deserve!

Training and Support

No medical experience? No problem. Every Medicator receives extensive training, starting with observation and gradually building to more advanced tasks. You’ll always have support from experienced volunteers and written protocols to guide you.
