When our volunteers are providing stewardship for our animals, we cannot help but stop and capture a moment in time that halts our heart with happiness and laughter. Brook, Champagne, Kenny, Danny, and Shay all live in one of our shy-cat rooms, most having been rescued from the outside. They have volunteer BFF’s who work with them by offering a gentle hand, a quick blink, and quiet conversations. Over time, these cats learn to build trust and socialization, in hopes that they will someday be adoptable and a wonderful companion animal. Until then, however, we know that they are a united front to ensure that our volunteers are cleaning their room, providing food, water, and most importantly, fluffing their cozy beds!
